Elf Diaper's pocket diaper review

2019.02.27

Let's try some cloth on the soft baby bottom! 🤩

One of the simplest way of cloth diaper is the ones with a pocket in it. It's compact, and easy to use!

I want to show you particularly the Elf Diaper's pocket diaper, because this is what works for us the most.

But first thing first: about the pocket diapers....

There is a hole between the double layer of fabric, and that's where you can put the moist absorbent insert. It can be a prefold, or a charcoal-bamboo liner, or a simple cotton cloth folded in multiple layers, or whatever you find on the market. The advantage of pocket diaper is that it's simple to use: after drying, you put the insert inside, store it until you want to use it, then just put under your kid's butt, and fasten the hook & loops/snaps. Then you just simply take it off, remove the insert, and wash it. The disadvantage is that if you'd like to use only pocket diapers, you'll need several pieces of them (about 15-20 pieces according the washing periods and the drying time).

I really like Elf Diaper's pocket diaper because it's relatively narrow between the thighs (if I only add one piece of liner), and the fabric seems really durable. It's not easy to hold my kids in one place for a long time, so I go with hook & loops instead of snaps 🤷‍♀️ A new pocket diaper cover from this brand costs 5-8 Euro purchased directly from the producer via Aliexpress, which is a great price in my opinion.

This is a one size type of cover, which means you can adjust the size with snaps. It fits for average size newborns to about 12 kgs, but it depends on the shape of your baby's body. It creates a small "package" behind 🚼
